Profile Network and Security Operations Engineer
Full time – permanent contract
Location: Rome with willingness to travel
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related faculty.
- Proven experience in Routing and Switching.
- Knowledge of Netgear and Cisco technologies. Reference certifications CCNA, DevNet Associate and IT Essentials, CCNP Enterprise and CompTIA.
- Familiar with Firewall (e.g. Fortinet, ASA, Checkpoint) and VPN technologies.
- Work with routers, switches and wireless devices to configure and troubleshoot VLAN, wireless LAN and Inter-VLAN routing.
- It configures and solves redundancy problems on a switched network using STP and EtherChannel.
- Develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
- Explain how to support available and reliable networks using dynamic addressing and first-hop redundancy protocols.
- It builds simple LANs, performs basic router and switch configurations, and implements IPv4 and IPv6 addressing schemes.
- It configures routers, switches and end devices to provide access to local and remote network resources and to enable end-to-end connectivity between remote devices.
- It configures and solves the connectivity problems of a small network using security best practices.
- Practice software development skills, including Python, GIT and common data formats (XML, JSON and YAML).
- Familiar with infrastructure automation using code, DevOps methodology and microservices.
- It distributes applications as containers and uses continuous integration/continuous distribution (CI/CD) pipelines.
- It installs, configures and troubleshoots computers and mobile devices.
- It identifies common security threats such as phishing and spoofing.
- Get ready for CompTIA A+ certification.
- Work with routers and switches using OSPF in point-to-point and multi-access networks.
- Mitigate threats and improve network security using access control lists and security best practices.
- Familiar with virtualisation, SDN and how APIs and configuration management tools enable network automation.
